Imagine a product that has different meanings to different people; a product which is just an abstract entity!! A product which you can look into and thousands of thoughts pass through your head. A product when kept at different places sort of changes your whole understanding about its meaning. A product which is simple yet adorable - we always wanted to create something like this. 

How deep is your love - gift set is an experimental realization of such an imagination.

Every product that  we usually find around us, has a specific usage tagged to it. Every such product is restricted by its user manual. It doesn't require any imagination of yours, it silently insists you to use it only in the way it is made for. It doesn't demand anything out of you. Its so mechanical and such a cliche' , isn't it? We believe that art is something that should make you think. It must give you an entry point to trigger your imagination. 'How deep is your love' is just such an entry point.

I started scribbling the idea for this  illustration on a moody night.I was trying to depict human relationships. It was a strange and funny idea of the characters hanging from the moon seeing the earth below. As I looked more into it, a lot of questions casually surfaced on my mind- how deep is 'LOVE'? Why are they holding on to each other?Why cant they let go? Are they afraid of the fall or is it the true bondage between them?  Asking myself all those questions I realized that  this simple doodle has the power to weave many more stories. By next day I completed the sketch and made it digital.

The time I finished the sketch, had a discussion with my creative team, and a new proposition emerged- to represent the theme by means of dolls so as to give a real feel to it ! We did the initial sketch of the doll and we already knew it had to be handmade from Channapatna. They showed the first prototype in a week's time and we further reworked on the design part. We wanted movable hands for the dolls initially but later decided on fixed hands as we did not want to compromise on it's physics of stability, while hanging. Each one of these 50 wooden dolls are handmade and manually colored with natural paints. 

The mini art print is printed on a high quality non-tearable PET film medium, the art print is framed in a special boxed-wooden-textured synthetic white frame.

The gift box includes the mini boxed art frame and the doll. The packaging has been designed in a way that  it complements the product. We kept the packaging as minimal as possible yet elegant. No doubt, this is going to be one of the unique and exclusive gift product which is not readily available anywhere else around you.

To interpret and imagine meanings out of this piece is totally up to the person who holds it.This is exactly why I mentioned initially that this- is an entry point for your imagination. Here is a mobile wall paper, that I made using the doll, a little play of my imagination- it is a montage of photography and illustration.
